The Antelope-Menifee Rural Center, which is celebrating its 73rd year representing the 2,500 families who have chosen a Country Living, Rural/Equestrian living style. This ‘town and country’ center invites all candidates for Menifee Valley’s new Town Council to introduce themselves to residents of the rural - country living - community family farms and equestrian estates and ranches area at its monthly meeting Friday, April 11 at 7:30 PM.
Country Living, Rural/Equestrian community, covering the southern half of the Menifee Valley, covers almost 20 square mile area covers about 13,000 acres and approximately 3,500 parcels ranging from 1 to 35 acres. Area is home of an active multipurpose trails organization who represent approximately 1,500 horses and riders.
The Center is located on Haun Rd at Garbani Rd (just west of I- 215 midway between Scott and Newport).
This Friday April 11, 2008 meeting is to be the first we are aware of to be a ‘live preview’ of the candidate platforms and their introductions to the Rural/Equestrian community’s registered voters and interested public. While the public is invited, seating is limited at this meeting
All residents who live generally south of Holland - West of I-215 or South of Garbani - East of I-215 are eligible members of the Rural Center and are invited to bring their questions for candidates about how each will support your chosen lifestyle. This is to be an informational meeting. There will not be time for open debate
Another Country Living, Rural/Equestrian communities’ meeting will be held May 10th at the Wooden Nickel Ranch on Holland Road - west of Murrieta Road. Details will be published.
Rural Center regular meeting schedule is: ‘Bring food 4 U + 2’ Potluck Dinner at 5:30, business meeting at 6:30, Community Issues and Announcements at 7:00 with Introduction and? Q & A of Candidates at 7:30 – 8:30PM.
The vote for incorporation is scheduled June 3, 2008 and will include 3 official Measures along with selection of 5 council members to serve a first term at large. There are 19 candidates listed with the Registrar of Voters.
As of this publication date the Measures as listed in LAFCO and Riverside County approvals are:
F: Incorporation?-Yes or No.
G: Name? Menifee or Menifee Valley.- A write-in vote for using "Town of" vs. "City of" is expected
H: Future election of Council representatives? - At large or by districts.
** At present, other than the LAFCO resolution as approved by the Supervisors, there are no official published statements of specific or general issues. However on April 23, 2008 the Registrar of Voters is scheduled to release its analysis.
At this time there are unresolved issues about what the first council will need to correct, modify or approve at first meetings that need to be questioned of the candidates qualifications, reasons and intent for seeking office. More informational details about the measures are also needed. Such questions, comments and suggestions are requested at this meeting.

**[explanation of lifestyle districts] An independent study is underway at Mt. San Jacinto Collage GIS Department to identify and define all available recommendations, methods and procedures to be used in defining 5 districts within the approved incorporation boundary map of Menifee, Paloma and Quail Valleys and Romoland and Sun City areas. Five separate and distinct living styles found in these areas are being included and studied, as are the updated voter precincts. Input from these representatives of these communities’ will be requested.
Other than the Registrar of Voters records the only Town Council candidate statements now available are on http://menifeelive.com/wb/pages/menifee-city-council-candidates.php. Each of the local newspapers is beginning their articles on the candidates.
